Hi I'm Jim Dills

I grew up and have lived most of my life in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love great music. It moves and inspires. We have three children. Two of our children have passed away. We also have a foster son. We have 6 grandchildren. One grandson is at UCB, one at BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

We have 2 children that have died. Those deaths and the deaths of other family members normally could cause us to ache but because we know that the Savior makes it possible for families to live together forever we have hope and joy. We don't ache, sure we miss them deeply but we don't ache.

How I live my faith

I like going to Church and participating and helping others. I feel that working with others helps me grow and helps me want to live well and correctly. I help someone and almost magically I am helped.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Jim Dills
Tithing is used by the Church to support all of the functions of the Church. Just to name a few Temples, local meeting houses, missions, welfare services. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jim Dills
Great question. From the time a Mormon boy starts learning about the Church his parents, his teachers at Church will help him understand that him Heavenly Father and the Prophet hope that he will prepare himself to serve. His service is voluntary and to the greatest extent possible he and his family will pay the cost of this mission. So he is not required to serve - but one hopes he does. Service in the mission is life preparing. Show more Show less
