Hi I'm Rhett

I grew up in Florida. I'm a corporate pilot and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and dad. My wife and two kids are the love of my life. My father died when I was a young boy. I always told myself growing up that if I had the chance to have kids when I was older that I would try to be the dad I never had. When I'm not working I love spending time with my family. My hobby is aviation and I've been blessed to make it my profession too. I love teaching and still do some flight instructing on the side. It is very rewarding to share the gift of flight with someone and see them progress.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was 8 years old. I was raised in a family that taught me about faith in God. As most teenagers experience, I went through an independent phase and wanted to make sure my faith in God was my faith and not just the faith of my parents. In the end it came down to a scripture in the New Testament where Jesus said "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself". As I've tried to live the teachings of Christ and his living prophets my faith has grown stronger and I have a peace in my life that I always want to have.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love about this church are the opportunities to be of service. This past Thanksgiving holiday I participated in a service project to provide meals to needy families in our area. I visit several families from our congregation on a regular basis in their homes to provide a spiritual message and to see if I can be of assistance to them. I have a regular assigment to assist members of our church share the message about the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. I have many friends of other faiths and denominations and I interact and assist them in various service projects. In the past I have worked in the community as part of the Boy Scouts of America. I try to leave enough spare time in my life for the impromtu and unplanned service opportunities that occur almost daily.
