Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in San Diego, CA. I'm in the Navy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family with six kids in sunny San Diego. I am number two out of six children. At nineteen I joined the US Navy where I traveled around the world and visited many other countries and have experienced about a dozen other cultures. I have worked in the Nuclear Power field for my entire career so far and am looking forward to working in the civilian nuclear power industry after I am through serving my country in the Navy. I have two beautiful girls and a wonderful wife, and love to wrestle with the two kiddos whenever I have a chance.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has a long history in the church, clear back to the days of the pioneers. As you might expect, for most of my life I accepted what was told to me. I came from a loving home where both my mother and my father were married and loved each other very much, so I had little reason to question what I had been taught. It wasn't until after I joined the Navy at 19 years old that I was forced to ask the hard questions and really find out for myself that the church was true. Through many of life's challenges, holding and exercising my priesthood authority has confirmed to me that the church is true.

How I live my faith

Being in the Navy and also being LDS lends itself to many discussions about what I believe. I share my beliefs with those who have questions, and I try to answer them as honestly and thoroughly as I can...without being too pushy. My wife and I organize and host large activities for our church congregation to strengthen the friendships between families.
