Hi I'm Sully

I grew up in California, but have lived in New York, Hawaii and Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and have 5 beautiful children. I have many hobbies including, running, working out, playing waterpolo, rock climbing, scuba diving, and camping. The greatest blessings in my life are my family and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I took on the challenge to find the true Church of Jesus Christ. I studied and prayed, and eventually received my answer. Many people say that it doesn't matter how you worship God, as long as you worship him. I believe in organized religion because reading in the Bible, I learned that that is how Jesus Christ organized his church when he was living on the earth. I searched many churches and found the one I know is Christ's church on the earth today. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following Christ example of serving my fellow beings and being an example of righteousness where ever I go. I fall short many times, but I am working on it. I think I'm doing better today that I was a year ago, and that is what I am striving for. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps me everyday to be a better person.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

I think the turmoil in our world today is obvious to anyone who is paying attention. People are more and more looking for handouts and becoming dependent on government or other groups. I think it is important to work hard and try to take care of our own needs. I also know that everyone has trials in their lives, and sometimes needs help. That is why we have a program in our Church to help members until they can take care of themselves again. I think that is how our Heavenly Father would have us live. We need to work hard to take care of ourselves and our neighbors. And we need to plan ahead so that we can be a help to our neighbors and fellow man in an emergency instead of a hindrance.
