Hi I'm Gary

Iam a retired retired railroad conductor and a convert to the Mormon church

About Me

Hi my name is Gary, Iam retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad, I am the Father of 11 children 8 girls and 3 boys, after remarrying I have also 4 step children 2girls and 2boys. I joined the Church in 1969 after listening to the Missionary Discussions. Iam an avid worker in Genealogy, Temple work, teach with my Sweetheart in the Primary and enjoy service to others. I love to make friends and chat.

Why I am a Mormon

THe reason I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was when the Sister Missionaries told me that the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost were seperate and distinct beings, I had always believed that because of in Mattehew where the Savior was baptized and it stated the Father saying,"This is my son in whom iam well pleased, and the Holy Ghost being there in the form of the Dove. Jesus was being baptized so they are all 3 represented. The other thing was when the Savior was on the cross and he stated several things, "Father why hast thou forsaken me, and unto thy hands i commend my body. Why would the Savior if he were 3 in one pray to himself? I find it so difficult for people not to see this. One must read the scriptures to get a real understanding. I love the Church because it is constant, its lead by a Prophet of God, it has revelation and most of all by obeying the commandments and doing what the Lord would have me do i can with my family live with him forever in the eternities

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a good Father, honoring the Priesthood, Loving my wife and children, serving in the church, keeping the commandments to the best of my abilities, doing good to others, service, study, prayers and learning of the Savior and how he wants us to live. My Sweety and I also teach in the Primary, the 7 yr olds what a blessing this has been.

What is faith?

To me faith is something you believe in, you have no proof of, however you feel that feeling within yourself that something is good or right. Faith takes an unshakable belief in promises the Lord has given as well as people you love. I have had faith in knowing that the Book of Mormon was true, one day i went out into the mountains and knelt down and asked Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true, I was there for over an hour and finally a feeling of warmth enveloped me and I knew the Holy Ghost was bearing witness that it was true. I have learned by having faith and continuing in that faith that thru the power of the Holy Ghost you will know for sure that your faith will become sure knowledge. I admonish anyone that is reading the Book Of Mormon or taking the discussions from the Missionaries would do as they are asked, and that is ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if what they want to know is true or not. The Lord will answer you that i promise, be sincere and desire with your heart, might and mind, and you will know with a sure knowledge. Show more Show less
