Hi I'm James

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Miami - after losing my mother at 16 I thank my aunt and uncle for taking me in.

About Me

I'm a railroad guy - been working at CSX 42 plus years - retired 11 years ago - but the Lord in his wisdom brought me back as a CSX/Verizon employee. A story in it self - I'm still doing railroad work - but now I'm father and a grandfather - been married to the same wonderful women 45 plus years. Six wondeful children and 14 grand children - I like working - I like outside parties especially ones with a smoker or roasting oysters over large fire - I also like sharing the gospel and I love sharing and helping others with there genealogy research...

Why I am a Mormon

You might think this would be easy - but it is not - 40 years ago when I joined I did not know who God was or where I came from or much about what life was so pose to be about. With that said the Lord let me be baptizes and nothing happen that first year - no testimony no blessings nothing until I picked up the BOM and started reading it with real intend.

How I live my faith

Being a past Bishop I have learned - One day at a time - it is not always easy - When things get tuff, I think of them as challenges and not problems - Whether it be my home, my family, my grand children my job or my callings - I know and I also have learned that prayers play a big part in my life. I have discovered that you cannot be in debt to Heavenly Father - I have tried at times to prove that but He has never let me down - the results might be unexpected but He is always there for me to see. So I live my faith by trying to be Honest, Forgiving, and patience with others.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Because without faith - without knowledge we are nothing - it's like a light bulb thinking you know whats right but until the light comes on - we are all in the dark and thats what happen to me - I choice to turn the switch and find out for myself by studying - praying and listing to the spirit.
