Hi I'm Tere Moore

I'm a Mormon and I would like to share my story with you!

About Me

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of about 35 years. I am the mother of 4 wonderful children, one son and three daughters. We have two young grandsons who are currently living in Shanghi, China! We visit with them on skype and readeo.com where we do bookchats. My husband and I own a structural engineering firm where I work part-time. I also have a degree in Elementary Education. I love quilting and belong to a local quilt guild. I am also a master gardener and love gardening. I also belong to a women's folk singing group who perform regularly around our area and out of state. I have learned to play the hammered dulcimer (not real well!) and really enjoy this group. One of the things I am really enjoying with my husband, is serving in the Rotary International organization. My husband is president of our local club and I serve on the youth committee which oversees our high school interact club. We are dedicated to International and community service and we have traveled to Peru and India to do service projects. We are planning on going to Mexico this summer to build houses near the Sea of Cortez. We love traveling and have visited many countries around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the right thing for me to be. I joined the Church when I was a young college student in a very abusive relationship. When the Gospel came into my life it brought me great peace and answered my deepest questions. I came to know that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us. He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to be our Savior and Redeemer. He is the light and strength of my life. Through His atonement and resurrection, I have peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come. I know that the Savior's church has been restored to the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith and I know that we have living Prophets and Apostles on the earth today with Priesthood authority to act in the name of Jesus Christ. I know that we have true scriptures brought by revelation. The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ. The spirit of Christ is in this book and it has filled my heart each time I have read it. You can find out for yourself if these things are true...it is up to you. God loves you and will answer your prayers as he has answered mine!

How I live my faith

I have served in many callings since joining the Church. I have enjoyed teaching children, youth and adults. I have served as president of the women's organization of the Church. I love homemaking and sharing skills with others. I also love compassionate service and currently serve in that capacity in my ward. I love family history work and have done many years of research to find my ancestors. This has been a great joy in my life and I know that I shall meet these wonderful people in the next life and rejoice with them! I have also served in many organizations in my community. I love meeting and working with people of other beliefs and nationalities. With my husband, I have traveled to many places to provide humanitarian service through our membership in Rotary International. I also am serving as youth advisor for our local Interact club, which is like a junior Rotary service club at our local high school.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Tere Moore
We come to know our Heavenly Father by praying to him. Just get on your knees and talk to Him. He knows your name! He will send comfort and peace and inspiration to your mind. You can keep a prayer in your heart no matter where you are or what your circumstances may be. He is waiting to hear from you! Call home! often! Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Tere Moore
Mormons revere Joseph Smith. He spent his life restoring the truth. He sealed his testimony with his own blood. Why would he do this for a lie? We worship God, the Eternal Father and His son, Jesus Christ. We do love and appreciate their Prophets. Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Tere Moore
I love President Monson, who is our Prophet today. He has a great love for the Savior and is a kind, warm and loving man. I feel a great spirit when he speaks and shares his life's experiences and testimony with us. Show more Show less

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Tere Moore
They are misinformed. Any one who HONESTLY is seeking for truth can know for themselves. Compare the teachings of the Bible with the Book of Mormon. Compare the original church that Christ set up with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Pray! Show more Show less
