Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a husband, a father, a business owner, a student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 24 year old husband and father of two, studying Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. My wife and I love being with our family and friends, playing sports, being outdoors, and just being a family.

Why I am a Mormon

Early on in my life I had several opportunities to travel both within and outside the United States. I was able to see the way different people lived, and compare it with the my own lifestyle. Over and over I was impressed with how fortunate I felt for understanding simple truths that were taught to me at church and at home. When I was 19 years old I went to Spain for two years to share those truths that I had been taught. I have seen the happiness it has brought to me, as well as in others as I have shared those same truths with them. And that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I think the best way for me to live my faith is in daily interactions with people around me. Because I believe in Jesus Christ, I try to treat people as He would. That requires studying the scriptures and praying to better understand what He would do in my situation. I've found that as I get to know new people and think about Christ's love for them I have opportunities to better understand who He is and His role as my Savior.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Brandon
It was a loving God who gave us the opportunity to be born. Because he knows us best, it makes sense that he would know how to best treat our bodies with what we put in them. Today God has given us a set of instructions both for what we should ingest and what we should avoid. The instructions are called the Word of Wisdom. It warns us that tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea, and illegal drugs are harmful to our bodies. In the Word of Wisdom God also tells us that grains, and fruits are good for our bodies, and to limit our intake of meats. Scientific research is slowly coming around to what God has already revealed to us. I know that as I've lived by God's instructions I've enjoyed good health, increased energy, and I have been more mentally sharp, all three of which are promises given in the Word of Wisdom.
