Hi I'm Summer

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am nineteen years old, and I am currently going to a Cosmetology Academy here in Utah. I chose to go into Cosmetology because I wanted to have a career that could be flexible with a family. Along with Cosmetology school I am going to the local community college and I hope to transfer to a state university where I will get my bachelors, hopefully in psychology. Life keeps me busy, but I always appreciate the moments I get to spend with my friends in my Singles Ward. Whether it is during our services on sunday or our weekly activities on Monday. The friends I have there are like my second family. Speaking of family, I am the youngest of three girls and one of which is married. I love my family so much and I am so grateful for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being Mormon. However, I have had my fair share of doubts. During those times I have been taught that I need to pray, read my scriptures, and go to the temple to really partake of the Spirit that I have always known is there. I have noticed that I have doubts that seem to shake whenever I find myself very involved in temporal things. That is when I try to get back on track to the beliefs that I know are true. I know this gospel is true and I am proud to be a member. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father with all my heart and want to bring happiness and joy to them by the way I am living my life. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and I know that it was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet on the earth today and that he is led by our Savior. I am so grateful for the atonement and the peace it brings me to know that I have someone close to me that has felt everything that I will ever feel.. or not feel. He is my best friend and brother. I cannot wait for the day that I get to see Him again.

How I live my faith

I go to a weekly fireside on wednesdays and services on Sunday. I try to be an example where ever I go so that people will want to know more.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are like every other woman in the world. However, we try to live the standards that the church has set for us. Modesty is one that most women try to live by. We believe that our bodies are sacred and that we should treat them with respect. Mormons believe that men and women have different roles in the church that make them both very special. Pres. Ezra Taft Benson said, "The conventional wisdom of the world would have you be equal with men. We say, we would not have you descend to that level. More often than not the demand for equality means the destruction of the inspired arrangement that God has decreed for man, woman, and family. Equality should not be confused with equivalance." The church believes that men and women should compliment each other. Show more Show less
