Hi I'm Greg P

I was born in Colorado and raised in Utah so I love the outdoors...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast and I love all kinds of sports. I also enjoy competing in endurance sports such as Ironman Triathlons. Swiming, Biking, and Running are all favorite past times of mine. I'm also a Husband (married 26 years), Dad, and Grandpa. I have three sons who compete in various sports and a daughter who love dance. As you can imagine, one of them played football for BYU. I have another son that runs track at USU. For the past 20+ years, I have been an executive, entrepreneur and investor. But, my greatest passion will always be my family-

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've had several personal experiences in my life that have led me to the Savior Jesus Christ. I realize that I have no power on my own to do anything. It is his power that I am able to be the person I am today. I know within my heart that the fullness of his gospel is on the earth today. I know without any doubt that he loves us and that is why he has not left us alone---we have prophets and apostles on the earth today. God really does continue to speak to man. It is so comforting to me and my family to have this knowledge. It guides our personal and collective action each day.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving my family and my neighbors. It brings peace and a sense of belonging to me. I consider it to be the greatest source of happiness in my life along with my family. I have the opportunity to serve people of many ethnicities, ages, and backgrounds. Although I have traveled more than 25 countries and enjoyed some of the world's greatest beauty, I feel that the greatest joy I have in my life is helping those in need near my home. Most of my service is in the form of doing nice, simple things, for others. Sometimes I provide a listening and understanding ear. At other times, I visit and provide service to those who are ill, either physically, emotionally, or spiritually. I also spend much of my time teaching others about the love of the Savior Jesus Christ and why he loves all of us and wants us to be happy.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Greg P
Many of my friends of other faiths ask me about whether or not Mormons believe the Bible to be the word of God. I always answer enthusiastically, "YES." I love the Bible and I study it daily. It helps me understand better the mission of the Savior Jesus Christ. I learn about his love for us and why he suffered for us and our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane and died on the cross at Golgatha. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Greg P
One of the greatest privileges of my position as Bishop is the opportunity to provide food, clothing, and shelter for those who live in our loca area. We don't allow recipients to pay for any assistance or reimburse the church. It's free. It is part of who we are to provide for those in need. We provide services and staples to anyone, regardless of their religious persuasions. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Greg P
Many of my friends of other faiths are surprised to learn that Mormons have very different political views, while still sharing common moral values. I have always been taught to vote my conscience, not just a political party. I have voted across the board for various party candidates in local and national elections. The church has never asked me to endorse a certain political candidate. Show more Show less
