Hi I'm Jon

I'm a Mormon and really a pretty ordinary guy.

About Me

I am a husband and the proud father of three great children. My occupation is a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. I love the outdoors, especially the mountains. I have been camping, hiking and snow skiing as long as I can remember. Scouting is near and dear to my heart and I have served as a leader in the BSA for over 30 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I believe the gospel of Jesus Christ can make each of us a better person. I want to be the best that I can be and I believe that as a Mormon I have to hold myself to a higher standard, one that requires me to be honorable in all that I do.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to treat others the way I would like to be treated. There seems to be a great shortage of kindness in the world today. I try to be respectful and kind to everyone no matter what their station in life, whether they are the person who empties my trashbin or the person who signs my paycheck they are all entitled to the same degree of respect. Serving in the church is a wonderful opportunity to forget about myself and assist and help others.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! Most definitely yes, Mormons are Christians. This is a very personal question and one that only each individual can answer and no one else. As an active Mormon, I accept Jesus Christ as my personal saviour and redeemer, the same Jesus who was born in Bethlehem, who performed miracles in Gallilee and who surrendered His life upon the cross at Golgotha. Mormons are expected to conduct all areas of their lives in accordance with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
