Hi I'm Chad

I live in Northwest Arkansas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After 25 years living in the same house in Utah, I moved to Arkansas and saw more change in my first year here than I did in my 25 in Utah. In the last year I have graduated from college, moved 1,200 miles away from my closest relative, started my first "real" job, bought a house, and married my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, like my parents and their parents and their parents. Being a Mormon was normal. Like any young person, I began to experience life and exercise God-given agency. In doing so, I realized I could no longer rely on what my parents believed, I had to rely on what I knew to be true. I read the Book of Mormon, prayed to know of its truthfulness, and tried my best to be worthy of receiving an answer. God heard the simple prayer of a simple boy and confirmed what I had been taught all my life - that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that His Church has been restored. I know that membership in His Church and obedience to God's commandments can one day lead me back to Their presence.

How I live my faith

I do my best. Like any human, I goof and make mistakes, but I know that I can become better. I do my best whether it's working at the office, playing golf, helping a neighbor, going to church meetings, or providing for my family.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I've never been to Antarctica. How do I really know it exists? To know our Father having never seen him, can be a difficult thing to swallow. If I wanted to learn about Antarctica, I would read and learn what I could about with what is available. The same goes for knowing God. We have at our disposal information and resources to gain an understanding of Him. The scriptures, teachings of prophets (many of whom have seen him), prayer, and evidence in the form of His creation. When we seek to learn more about Him with the resources we have been given, we can come to know Him as our Father. Show more Show less

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

There are many ways, but one that I really can relate to took place last month. The local Mormon congregations teamed up with several other congregations and organizations in the area to sponsor an Emergency Preparedness Fair. It was well attended and many people in the community were able to better prepare themselves and their families against potential emergencies such as natural disasters. Show more Show less
