Hi I'm Tony

I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon convert.

About Me

I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I love to listen to and play all types of music. I played guitar and mandolin in two bands from 2007 to 2010. I joined the church in the spring of 2008 and am currently sevring a full time mission in the Idaho Pocatello Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I have read, pondered, and prayed about the Book of Mormon. I came to a knowledge that it was true by asking God and receiving an answer after studying out in my mind the message of the Book of Mormon as well as the story of Joseph Smith. God gave me an answer that I could not deny nor could I ignore because it came through the Holy Spirit. The church has renewed my faith in Jesus Christ and has taught me to not only remember Jesus Christ, but to apply the sacrifice that He made into my life daily.

How I live my faith

Currently I'm a Missionary serving in Pocatello, Idaho. I teach people about our faith and help them to come closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not. We do not pray to or perform any ordinance in the name of Joseph Smith. We only worship, pray to, and perform ordinances in the name of Jesus Christ. We believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God to restore that which was lost from the death of the Savior and His apostles. A prophet is chosen by God to lead and guide His people. Think of Noah, Moses, Abraham, even John the Baptist and so on. These Men are credited as prophets by all of Christianity. They stood as a mouthpiece for God, performed miracles, wrote scripture, and so on, but we do not worship them, we still only worship Christ. We recognize them and believe in them and their writings because God chose them. We believe in the same organization that existed in the primative church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. Are Mormons Christians?

I guess that would all depend on your definition of the word Christian. Webster's dictionary says: relating to or professing a belief in Christianity. The definition of Christianity in the same book says: religion derived from the teachings of Jesus Christ. We believe all sixty-six books of the Bible are the word of God. Our sacraments (religious ordinance) include: Baptism by full immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost and weekly partaking of bread and water in remembrance of Christ's blood atonement ( His suffering in the garden of Gethsemane to His death on the cross for us). Our church and all of it's teachings are centered in Jesus Christ. Take Jesus Christ out of our church and we no longer have a church. Show more Show less
