Hi I'm Taylor

I laugh too much and talk even more. I'm an only child, a Political Science major, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Redondo Beach, California. Some call me a beach bum. I had the great opportunity to attend a church owned University for a year before I went on to serve a mission in the San Antonio area of Texas. Passions in life Serving God with all my might, mind and strength, tennis, rafting, snorkeling, off Roading, bonfires, traveling, and anything that requires a trip outdoors. I am anxiously awaiting the day when I can make my name known. I am majoring in Political Science and ready to have my mark on the world for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 9 years old. I grew up in a "non- denominational" background learning and reading from the Bible and being taught at a very young age to focus on the grace of God. When the missionaries came to my home and taught my family of how Christ had restored His church through a living Prophet really grabbed my attention. So I asked questions... a lot of questions. As I did what they invited me to do, read from the Book of Mormon and pray to my Heavenly Father asking for a witness of the divinity of what they were sharing with me, it just clicked. A few weeks later my Mom and I were baptized. I felt such a familiarity with what they were sharing and it just made sense to me. That God is a loving God of order and will always bless His children with guidance throughout this life and the life to come. My testimony has grown by leaps and bounds as I have the opportunity to now share that news with others who find the same blessings in the restored Gospel as I have. I do know that by small and simple things great things come to pass.

How I live my faith

While I was at college I had roomates that were all guys who had previously served missions. Really they were the kind of people that really impressed me and inspired me to make the decision to serve for myself. I wanted to be like them. Later, I was offered a job in Southern Oregon as paid campaign staff for a gubernatorial campaign taking place at the same time I needed to save up to pay for my upcoming mission. We serve 2 year full time missions any place in the world where countries allow missionaries. I was blessed to be sent to Texas to learn for myself just what it takes to be the kind of person Jesus Christ needs me to be. Without my education beginnings, my friends and family and a great opprotunity to work before hand, I don't think I would have been able to serve a mission. I am deeply grateful for the chance to be a missionary and for the ways the Lord prepares for me. Following Christ in all that I do is something that may one day be mastered. But my life is still a work in progress and a series of trial and error days. Lessons learned as mistakes are made helps me better understand myself and truly how repentance works. I am happy to live each day with renewed enthusiasm towards the goal of one day becoming Christ like. I live my faith by just doing the best I can day by day. Finding great strength through both the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Having a better understanding of where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going does not only bless me but my future family for time to come. I know that Christ lives, and that He and Heavenly Father guide this church today. Bringing the everlasting blessing of eternal life is the goal and plan for each of us as we repent and come closer to our God. There is so much more than we can ever realize in store for us. As we live the Gospel of Jesus Christ, follow him with immovable faith, and to try all that we can do to return with Him one day with our family, is the goal we should have.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Taylor
Absolutely! I read from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon each day. These two witnesses of Christ establish the truth and divinity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since it is the same Gospel, by the same Savior of the world it is easy to study from both sets of Scripture and helps one come closer to the things we need to learn in life. Show more Show less
