Hi I'm Ryan

I am a son, an aspiring graphic artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

my favorite thing in the world is to play ultimate frisbee with a group of friends (or strangers)! if I'm not playing frisbee I want to be sculpting, or drawing. I have strong drive to reach my goals, which are really high to make me stretch. I have worked as a graphic designer and enjoy doing it, but look forward to a future in animation.

Why I am a Mormon

A lot of why I am a member of this Church is the idea of serving others. I have had experiences in my life where I have been told by God to stop being selfish and serve others. the most important of these experiences to me was when I received an answer to a prayer where I asked if I should serve a mission for the church. the answer came when a friend was asked if he were going to serve a mission and his answer was "it's just not for me." As I went about my day, week and so forth, that phrase would not leave my mind. I constantly felt this feeling of my selfishness and how serving a mission was not about me, but about those Children of God that I would be called to serve. I have realized since then that the Church of Jesus Christ is a Church where we serve one another, and help to build each other up. I feel that many times my selfishness has been kept in check due to the service I am asked to give in the church. from those simple beginnings I have prayed many times and received an answer that the church truly is the living church of God on the earth. I know that God still loves His children and will do all he can to help us return to Him. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one of those ways, and that God has called a prophet to lead His church.

How I live my faith

I have recently returned from a mission serving in the Albuquerque area. I really loved it and honestly wish I could go back. When I served a mission, I left my home and family behind, and dedicated everyhour of two years to the Lord. I found many weaknesses in myself, but also found strength in the Lord as I taught the Gospel to His children throughout New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. it was a crazy time, and I will continue to share the gospel, even if I no longer wear the name badge of a full-time missionary.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

I've learned that our bodies are a gift from God, and that they should be taken care of. part of the reason we came to earth is to receive a body, and it is the house of our spirit while we are here. being the house of our spirit, we should keep them clean and healthy, much the way we show respect for the house of God, churches and temples.   there are many ways we can abuse our bodies... I don't want to make a list, but we need to make sure that we stay far away from the many and varied ways to misuse this gift from God. personally I enjoy pushing my body to it's limits, with sports, especially frisbee and rock climbing. I understand of course, that there is a line I should not cross, where I would be putting my body and my life in serious physical danger. Show more Show less
