Hi I'm Daniel

and I'm a happy Mormon.

About Me

My name is Daniel, living in Beaverton, Oregon. I was born in Escondido, California, but moved and grew up in Portland, Oregon. I am a musician at heart, playing some piano and guitar and lyric writing. I love to make others laugh and find it makes them and the world around them a better place to be when they are smiling. It feels good to see them smiling too.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born into this church. As most that have been born into the church, some sadly take it for granted and usually fall away, I held on. I have been blessed so much by what I have known and seen and experienced in my life that if I were to deny anything about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I would be worse off than if I had never even heard of this Gospel before. To reject and altogether turn away from the True Gospel, is an all too scary thought, so I'll happily live the life have been given, in the service of the Lord and His church.

How I live my faith

TEMPLE WORTHY!!! It is in a way that hopefully runs parallel to the Saviors life as best as I can. I do and will stray at times but I know that the Church is true and never fully let go of it. How could I when it has brought me so much comfort and peace to my life. Especially since I am a witness of the truthfulness this church offers. Search, ponder and not only pray, but live the Scriptures as the Word of God still lives today through and by those Scriptures and Prophets in our days!

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Daniel
The Mormon Church is one of the key relief groups in the World today and not just in natural disasters but in everyday situations. When Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, the made a report in the news. The top 2 groups to help provide relief for that situation was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Mormons. Now, I know and I'm sure you noticed, those are the same organization. But the World doesn't always see it as the same. The truth is, all around the world, the Church is there. Yes it is Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah but as a worldwide church, it is there to provide more than a place of worship. It looks for multiple opportunities to serve others whether in or out of the church with the needs they have. Hygiene Kits are a huge thing that its members do to help put together and send out. Even through the Scouting program, it goes in line so well with the Church and that program of always "do a good turn daily". And dont just do one and stop. Look for many and any way to be of service. "When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God." ~Mosiah 2:19 Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

Daniel
The Law of Chastity, is very sacred and when abided by, is pleasing in the Eyes of the Lord. As the Lord God is perfect and his Son Jesus Christ is perfect, the Law of Chastity is a law of sexual purity, and of clean and righteous thoughts and controlled passions, of all, which we may have desires in but have to learn and know how to control ourselves from those natural desires or tendencies. The Law of Chastity is a simple law but one that holds great and wonderful or terrible consequences. Even then the degree of that law that is broken can have a short term to more long term effects but that is something that only one and the Bishop can resolve. It is treated with absolute privacy, as the Bishop acts as a representative of the Lord, Jesus Christ, therefore keeping it with the highest sense of regard, as a lot, if not most, situations can become very sensitive. But The Law of Chastity, is not a loss for hope in returning. Bridle your passions, take control of your thought and have the desire to do it no more. Through repentence and the Atonement, even then can you become clean again and forgiven of those things that were holding you back before. It is a very important Law and as I and countless others may say similarly, it should be treated with high regard and with sensitivity to the individual or ourselves. Remember though, you are never alone when you make the right decision and faithful efforts back to Christ, His arms will be there to greet you and welcome you back. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Daniel
Women in the Church are so very special in what they do in serving in the Church. They are called to be Mothers and by coming into that calling as a Mother, they have to be so close to be able to receive that spirit that they nurture and care for. They serve in so many ways too, that it is not needed for them to hold the Priesthood. The Priesthood itself, is not to bless our own lives. It is to bless and serve the needs and lives of others! It is the Power to do God's work, for when we do serve others, we are indeed in the service of our God. The Relief Society is how the women in the church are able to lead and fulfill their callings and duties in the Church. Without the women in this church, there would be nothing much about it. It was to Mary Magdalene that Christ had first shown himself to upon resurrecting on the third day because she was going to finish the embalming and services to the Lord, not having time before the Sabbath. So yes they may not have the priesthood, but they still see all the blessings of having it in their lives from the Men worthy to hold it. Show more Show less
