Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a husband, a sports junkie, a law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a soon-to-be dad studying law in British Columbia. I have been married two years. I like to be active and am always on the move. I love just about anything that has to do with basketball. Whenever I get the chance, which isn't often enough, I like to go surfing with my brothers. Music is one of my biggest interests, listening to it and playing it. I love spending time with family.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have been wonderful examples to me throughout my life and have always done their best to teach me about Jesus Christ and living the commandments. Growing up I felt that the right place to be on Sundays was at church and I tried to live what I had been taught. I came to realize that my efforts to follow Christ directly related to how happy and peaceful I felt. In high school and university I have seen the consequences of choosing a different path and know that the best way to live is by the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I have prayed and felt by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ which also stands as a witness to Joseph Smith being called as a prophet and restoring the gospel. Truth can be found in many places and I know that the fullness of gospel is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel peace and comfort whenever I am at church, pray, study the scriptures and talk about the gospel with others. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Most important for me is being the best person I can. That starts at home in my family. I try to treat everyone I meet with respect. God loves all His children and I have no reason not to respect and appreciate everyone regardless of their background. I love to teach and share with others the things that I know to be true. I find a lot of strength and support being with others who share my beliefs and standards. When I am faced with questions and challenges in life I try to find answers through studying the scriptures and by praying to my Heavenly Father. I try to come closer to Him each day. My faith is what guides my day to day actions and is a part of almost every decision that I make.
