Hi I'm Lindsay

I'm a writer, photographer, a lover of music, a student, and a daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four kids: two older brothers and an older sister. I love to play volleyball, softball, and other sports. I play with my nieces and nephews and 2 kitties. I am attending a college in Idaho and I'm loving it! I love music and like to sing, dance, take pictures, and just have a great time! I spent about 9 years growing up and attending a school in a very small town where everybody knew everyone's business at any time of any given day and I was a religious minority. In my graduating class, of the 40 other students I graduated from high school with, only 3 of us were members of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church, but my mom was baptized when she was 17 years old. Just as almost every other child born into this church, I was baptized at the age of 8, when we are seen as old enough to choose right from wrong for ourselves and take responsibility for our actions, whether they are good or bad. I have been to all the church sponsored activities and campouts while growing up and I have really come to love the gospel, my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and love serving others and knowing who I really am and where I can go in this life and the next.

How I live my faith

I live by example while trying to follow the example set by Jesus Christ. I love trying to play some of the hymns on the piano, although I'm not very good yet. I feel that music can touch our hearts in a way that words cannot.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. He leads the church through direct revelation from God. He has been given the authority to lead the church today in righteousness. I have had my own witness that he has truly been called by God to lead us today and if we obey what he says, we will be okay. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet since the Mormon Church had been taken off the earth. When Joseph was only 14 years old, he was questioning the churches and which one he should join. There were so many different religions at the time that were all contending, fighting with the other churches. He was reading in the Bible in James chapter 1 verse 5 which says “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, which giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.” He knew then that he had to ask God for help in this. He made his way to a grove of trees and prayed vocally. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in the flesh, and said that he was not to join any church, but that he, a lowly, uneducated boy of 14 years would be part of bringing Christ’s church back to the earth. In this process, he translated the Book of Mormon, established the Mormon church, suffered much persecution, pain and heartache. Many times people told him that all he had to do was deny what he had seen, but since Joseph had actually seen the vision, and he knew that God knew it, he could not deny what he saw. Since he would not deny it, he suffered so much, but he was blessed so much more. Joseph was martyred for what he believes. This gospel is so important that he wouldn’t deny it even to save his life.
