Hi I'm Daniel

I'm a husband, a father of 2 boys and 2 girls, a USC Trojan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Like most married men, I'm an average guy with a wife that's way above average. I grew up in the Los Angeles area, was converted and baptized into the church and served a mission in southern Mexico. Carrying the message of the restored Gospel as an authorized representative of the Lord Jesus Christ was a truly awesome experience! I returned from the mission, graduated from the University of Southern California and married up . . . as all men do. We had 2 sons and then 2 daughters, pretty great kids. Two of them are out of the house now with one completely off Dad's payroll.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I was converted by a deeply spiritual experience with the Spirit of the Lord. Here's the reader's digest version. I was born and raised a Catholic and up until the day I found out about the restoration of the Gospel, I had expected to live my entire life as a Catholic. One summer in the 1970's when I was a teenager, two of my brothers were on vacation in the western United States when they stopped at the AAA in Provo, Utah for maps. A good sister of the church became pen pals with one brother, sent a copy of the Book of Mormon and the missionaries. My brother started listening to the lessons the missionaries give. On the way home from a local surfing trip to Malibu beach, my brother related to me what the missionaries had taught him. I really felt the truth of what he was saying. I couldn't explain at the time how I knew what he was saying was true, but I just knew it was true. I got my own copy of the Book of Mormon and started reading. Felt the same thing. Well here I am almost 40 years later and I can honestly say that finding the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best thing that ever happened to me. By the way, after a while I finally figured out what that was that gave me the assurance that what my brother was telling me was true as we headed southbound on PCH in his red VW bus after that day at Malibu. It was the Spirit of the Lord. And that was also what I felt as I started reading the Book of Mormon. I really have no doubt the Lord Jesus Christ is leading His church just like he led it anciently - through His living Apostles. I pay attention to what they say. It's really worked for me.

How I live my faith

I just try to keep the commandments as I understand them and try to be of service whenever and wherever I can.
