Hi I'm Todd

I am a vocational rehabilitation counselor. I have worked in that profession for six years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father of one son. I have another son due in February. I am a certified rehabilitation counselor that has worked for the same company for the past five and half years. I love my job and consider myself very blessed to have that job. I enjoy reading, hiking, viewing wildlife, basketball, sports, and exercising.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a senior in high school I decided to make a decision regarding religion in my life. Up to that point in my life I had gone through some of the motions of being a Mormon, but I did not know that it was true religion. I began to look at the people that I admired and question why they were that way. All of the people that I had chosen were happy people, and their common source of happiness was the gospel of Jesus Christ. I decided to start to experiment upon the faith by reading, praying, and living the gospel to test it. It was not long before I was working alone on a quiet evening and I had a witness of the truth of the Mormon faith. My life has never been the same and I have had the testimony strengthened and reconfirmed over and over again.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith first be being a a good family member. I strive to be a good husband by spending time with my wife and serving her. I also strive to be the best father that I can be through spending time with him and serving him. I also attempt to be a good support to my extended family. We believe that the family is a eternal unit. We receive assignments in church that we are called and released from, but we are never released from our callings as famly members. I enjoy being able to read the scriptures each day and praying each day to maintain a daily relationship with my Father in Heaven. I also strive to serve his children on a daily basis to get to know him better. I am currently serving in a calling as a leader over the younger men in the wardand find great joy in service. We strive to help people move in and out of the neigborhood, participate in service projects, and visit the individual homes of the families to get to know them on a personal basis. I also love being able to go to meetings each week to experience fellowship and participate in my faith. One of my favorite parts of my faith is being able to attend the temple and peform ordinances for deceased ancestors and others that need a chance to receive sacred ordinances.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Todd
We believe in giving 10% of our income to the church because it is a commandment of God that was first given in the Old Testament. In the book of Genesis we are told that Abraham gave tithes to Melchezidek. We are also told in the book of Malachi in the 3rd chapter that when we do not pay our tithes and offerings we are robbing God. We believe that God gave us everything so for him to ask for 10 % back to do his work is the least that we can do in return. It is a great commandment that helps me keep my heart centered on the Lord and not on the money that I earn. Show more Show less
