Hi I'm Matt

I love music, family, and a good laugh and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey guys! I love everything about music. Making it, listening to it, and dancing to it! I enjoy going to the beach too! I'm currently serving a two-year mission in the best mission in the world, the Texas Houston South Mission! When I return home, I will be getting a degree and then I'm setting my sights on law school. I want to be able to help people succeed somehow. It makes me happy when I see others smile. I love to hang out with friends doing anything uplifting and fun! My family is amazing and has apparently become horse ranchers while I've been away in Texas. Go figure!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm fortunate enough to have been born into the church and have had it with me all my life, and although I personally didn't necessarily have adversity in my decision to join this church, I have had to follow in the faith of all those before me and choose to continue in my faith. The Gospel is a wonderful blessing in my life and I have a strong faith that it is true. I have felt so many blessings come from following the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ and witness to you that He still lives today. It is amazing that I can feel His love when I am living right. I am so thankful for that. I am also so thankful for our Savior's Atonement for all of our sins. He suffered for all of us and if we can just believe in Him and live His gospel, we will return again to our Father in Heaven. What a phenomenal blessing! I know that if I didn't have the gospel in my life, I would be a lost, miserable person, and that is why I choose to live my life in such a way that would make my Father in Heaven proud.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday, not to mention the other meetings and activities attend throughout the week. I attended a special ward that is only for young single adults, until I left home to serve my mission. I am now a missionary serving in the Texas Houston South Mission speaking Spanish. It's so wonderful to be in the service of our Heavenly Father!

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

Yes it is true. He said in John 10:16 "Other sheep I have which are not not of this fold" I truly believe that after Christ's resurrection, he visited his faithful servants in the Americas. In fact, you can read this amazing account for yourself in the the eleventh chapter of the book of 3rd Nephi in the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

I attribute the Spirit of God and the fullness of the gospel we share and proclaim to the growth of this church. Daniel, the ancient prophet of the Old Testament interpereted a dream in which a stone cut out of a mountain without hands rolled forth and destroyed a giant statue made out of many different materials and then continued on to fill the earth. The stone represented the gospel Jesus Christ and the only true church in the Last Days. The statue represented all the kingdoms of the world. The fullness of the gospel is moving forward and cannot be stopped and will one day fill the entire earth. The truth will always prevail and this is why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is growing, because it is true. Show more Show less
