Hi I'm Ralph

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in Healthcare Management. I am the father of 6 beautiful children. My first wife died of cancer and left me alone with 5 of my children still at home. I remarried a wonderful mother of 7 children. Between us we have 13 children and 42 grandchildren. Shortly after we were married, her teenage son was killed in a terrible accident. We share a common bond of having lost a very close loved one. I have very few, if any outside interests. To relax, I enjoy hiking, long walks, and scenic drives in all kinds of weather and seasons. I spend my free time with my wife and serving in the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense to me. It makes sense to me that we lived as spirits in a pre-earth life with our Heavenly Parents. It makes sense that this earth is patterned after that pre-earth life organized into families and friends. It makes sense that after death, we continue to live in a spirit paradise again reunited with our loved ones. It makes sense that Jesus Christ made it possible for me to be forgiven of my mistakes and become clean and worthy to live with God again. Mormon doctrine teaches these "make sense" principles.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, I attend services every Sunday. This includes a Sacrament Meeting where we partake of the bread and water to remember our Saviour's sacrifice for us. During this meeting, we quietly and personally recommit to live his commandments and remember him. After this meeting, I attend a Sundy School class where we study the scriptures together. There are also meetings for the men, women, youth, and children where they study their duites. I am assigned three families in my congregation as a Home Teacher. I make monthly visits to these families and leave a spiriual message. I make myself available to assist them with anything either spiritual or physical that they may require. I also serve in a leadership position since our church has a non-paid clergy. We all accept assignments to teach, lead, or serve and rotate these assignments as requested.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I think first and foremost it begins at home. I feel that my home is a haven from the influences of this evil world we live in. How incongruent it is to walk inside the walls of my personal fortress and then plug in to the outside world. We need to monitor what is viewed on TV, internet, cell phones, and other media devices. Begin with yourself. Then set the standard for the rest of your family. Talk openly with others who live in your household about what you will allow to enter your home. Keep media use out in the open and during daytime hours. People left to themselves late at night and/or in seclusion open the door to temptation. Pornograhy has brought down the greatest of people. We can't be naive to think that anyone is strong enough to handle private, unsupervised consumption. Show more Show less
