Hi I'm RJ

I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three children and a beautiful wife. We like to go to the park, play sports, ride bikes, and make desserts! I have an MBA from Oregon State University and work for Target. I enjoy playing sports, remodeling, cooking, gardening, working on cars, and dreaming about an early retirement.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is simply beautiful. It teaches the importance of the family and about our eternal nature as Gods children. When I was a young boy I recall wanting to share the gospel with my first grade teacher. I began to make a tape recording of primary songs for her and as I sung my mind began to think about what was going to happen after I died. I became very scared because I didn't know what would happen and remember feeling a sense of emptiness and fear. I shared this with my parents and they had a special family home evening where they taught our family the plan of salvation. After learning about where I came from, why I was here on Earth, and where we were going after this life, and that I had the opportunity to spend eternity with my family my fear subsided and I knew that this was our Heavenly Fathers Plan for his children. I now have the great privilage of teaching my children about Gods plan for them and helping them understand his gospel. I love the peace the gospel brings to me and the feeling of assurance the Holy Ghost gives to me that this is true. I know who I am and I know God's plan, this is the reason I am a Mormon!!

How I live my faith

I actively participate in church activites. I was recently asked to help coordinate our congregations scout troop. I will be working to help the youth in our church have a positive scouting experience. I have also been asked to visit with several families in the church on a monthly basis to ensure there basic needs are being met. I do this to follow the example of the savior and help share the load of our bishop in watching over the members of our congregation. I enjoy meeting with these families and sharing in their journey through life. I recently served on a non profit board of directors for a group that helped senior citizens remain independent and stay in thier own home by helping them with chores, rides, and maintenence tasks.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

RJ
I believe that Jesus is my savior. I believe he is the son of God, that he lived here on the Earth, that he atoned for my sins, that he then died and was resurrected so that I could have the same opportunity. Show more Show less
