Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a southern woman and a college student in political science. I love cooking and I love my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I feel privileged to claim as home Music City, USA! That is - Nashville, TN. I love the South. I love the warm temperatures and the warm and friendly people. I love the shared community values and the patriotic community spirit. I am a college student studying political science and I, strangely enough, love politics. I'm not really a debater, but I love learning about government and history and elections. In the summers I come home to work at a YMCA summer camp and during the school year I live with a couple adorable Mormon roommates. I am one of five children and we were all homeschooled. I love to read, cook, exercise, talk about politics, and stay up late watching chick flicks with my roommates. I love Disney movies and I totally rock Disney Scene-It. However, my favorite movie of all time is A Walk to Remember. Oh, and I LOVE European chocolate.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Because it feels right. I was blessed with parents who taught me to have faith in Christ from the time I was born. I started praying when I was just eleven years old to know whether this gospel was true. I remember praying one night and just feeling so peaceful. I knew it was right- and every time I take the time to pray, ponder, or read his word, I feel it again. A quiet confirmation, kind of like a gentle voice in the wind. I just know it's true.

How I live my faith

I am the Family History Sunday School Teacher for my ward (congregation). Mormons are very interested in preserving genealogy, or records of our ancestors. My job is to help people know how to search for records of their ancestors and learn about their families. I love learning about my family's history and helping others discover theirs.

Are Mormons Christians?

I guess it depends on how you look at it. We say: YES! However, growing up in the Bible Belt of the south, I learned that others define Christianity different from us. We do believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Eternal Father. We do believe that Christ suffered and died for our sins. We do believe in the Bible as the Word of God, as long as it is translated correctly. However, we also believe in the Book of Mormon as another witness of Christ. We also believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings, acting together as one Godhead. We believe that to fully access the blessings of Christ's atonement, we need to believe in him, repent of our sins, and strive to keep His commandments. Show more Show less
