Hi I'm Devan!!!

I love music. My dream is to be a country music singer along side George Strait. I'm a MORMON!

About Me

Well for starters I'm 100% southern. I spend most of my time working, staying busy with church activities and when I get a free minute or two I try to hit the woods for some hunting or a local lake for some bass fishing. I'm a Correctional Officer AND a Pharmacy Technician. Music is a huge part of my life. I love to sing a play guitar and just have a good time....o yea and I'm a Mormon too!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I rarely attended church but my family I were always members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After passing through many trials I returned to the church around the age of 14. By that time I was able to really understand why certain things had happened in my life. Mainly the divorce of my parents. By the age of 16 I had a testimony that God lives, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet in these latter days as well as the men who continue to guide us as prophets and apostles today.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from Northern Guatemala,Central America after having served as a missionary for 2 years. I am currently serving as the Stake Young Single Adult President. My call is to help all Young Single Adults (ages 18-30) progress in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of the tools that I use are the Institute program (a religious class generally given during the week with topics ranging from the Old Testament to the Teachings of the Living Prophets to Preparation for Marriage), Activities (Dances, Sporting Events,etc..), and many others.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

As members of the church we strive to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We choose not drink coffee, tea or alchohol because we may very easily become addicted to them. Let's take coffee for example; I have met people who are not physically able to function unless they have 1(maybe more) cup of coffee every morning. With so many other healthy things to drink it's really not that hard to avoid drinking these things. Personally I'm a huge fan of orange juice. Another favorite is IBC Root Beer and IBC Cream Soda...yum... Show more Show less
