Hi I'm Jason

I grew up in the Detroit, Michigan. I am an eagle scout. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Michigan and moved around about every 3-4 years eventually settling in Colorado. I am a dad of a 1 year old daughter and another baby is on the way come May. I am so excited for the next addition to our family. My wife and I just enjoyed our 3 year anniversary recently. I work as a salesman and enjoy helping others.

Why I am a Mormon

My Father and Mother were converts to the church and raised me up in the gospel. As I was about to enter into highschool my mother was diagnosed with cancer and lived only a few months later. This was hard for me to understand how God could take someone so good and faithful as my mother. I was hurt and angry. As I entered highschool I began to reason that if I had been raised any other way, I would believe that to be true. I decided that I would live my own life they way I thought was best, disregarding those things which were taught to me. When I was in my early 20's I had everything the world teaches that will make you happy. Yet, after all of this success I still did not have happiness. There was something missing. I reflected on my dad's life and the alleged happiness and peace he claimed to have from living the gospel. I thought that I would give it a try and find out for myself if God was real, if he existed today and if he knew me. I reasoned that I had nothing to lose other than time and if it turned out that God did not exist, then it really did not matter what I did. I decided that I would do this with full purpose of heart and that I would read and study the Bible and Book of Mormon and start praying and trying to do the things which are taught in the scriptures. As I read and prayed and did my best to live the commandments I started to recognize God's hand in my life. He answered prayers and I started to come to know Him through learning about him in the scriptures and seeing how he blessed my life. I realized that there were things of which I had done contrary to his commandments and laws and sought to be forgiven by Him. He heard and answered my prayers and I felt the burdens I had carried for so long lifted off of me. I knew at that moment that He was real and that Jesus Christ was real and that they knew and cared about me. I am still not perfect, but I have happiness and peace. He changed my life and I will be ever grateful to him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life in a attitude of serving others. There are so many that have offered me a kind hand when I have struggled. I have found in the simplest of ways that I can help someone somewhere everyday. Sometimes it can be as simple as a smile or a hello or holding a door for someone. Some days it is for the people I love the most in my own family. Picking up the house or doing the dishes without being asked when my wife is tired. Or helping someone move and giving my assistance or to a stranger who is without. I have found that this is a great source of joy.
