Hi I'm Greta

I love my family! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

HI my name is Greta. I have been married to my sweetheart for 23 years. He is a wonderful and supportive husband. I am the proud mother of 3 wonderful children, one of which is serving a mission, for the Lord, in South Africa. I also have a precious granddaughter that I love spending time with. Some things I enjoy is being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. I have been a teacher for 24 years, but feel my first and most important job is that of wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. It gives me purpose and hope. I honestly can't imagine life without it. My mother was introduced to the gospel when I was 5 years old. We have been active members ever since. I am thankful to those two young men that brought the gospel to our family. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet that restored the gospel to the world and that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet upon the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is a historical record of a people that lived long ago. It is a book that holds the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.I am thankful for this book and the guidance it gives my life. I am thankful for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the peace the gospel brings me.

How I live my faith

I am a 4th grade teacher in a small town. I enjoy working with kids and feel gratified with my job. I enjoy my calling at church. I work with the women's organization as a counselor to the president. It is very fulfilling to help those in need and to support the sisters in my ward. At times I am called to teach various classes, and I enjoy that as well.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Unlike Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit and the third member of the Godhead. The Holy Ghost is a wonderful gift that is given to us after baptism. Much like the gift of the spirit, or light of Christ we all born with, the gift of the Holy Ghost is more than this. This gift can be our constant companion after baptism. As long as we keep the commandments the Holy Ghost will stay with us leading and guiding us in our everyday lives. I rely heavily on the Holy Ghost to lead me and guide me with daily decisions in my life. I have learned to listen closely to that still small voice. At times I have not listened to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I always regret when I do not listen. I am so thankful for this gift that I have been given. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Being the mother of a full time missionary serving in South Africa, I know that missionaries who elect to serve a mission, pay for it out of their own pocket. Before my son went on his mission, he enjoyed buying and selling vehicles. At times he would make money off his transactions. He kept this money to use for his mission.I am so thankful that my son is serving a mission for the Lord Jesus Christ. I know that when he returns, he will have a stronger testimony of our Savior and many precious stories of the conversions of our brothers and sisters in Africa. Show more Show less
