Hi I'm Guillermo

I grew up in Puerto Rico. I'm getting a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I love Linux. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I must say that the greatest thing that ever happened to me was meeting my wife. My hobbies include computer geeky stuff and DIY stuff. My wife and I just got our first home a year back and I have been working on it (it was a beat up foreclosure), it has been very gratifying work.

Why I am a Mormon

In 2000, some missionaries came by our door and we accepted the missionaries into our home. I was the youngest and I wasn't living at home I was attending a science and math boarding school. My sister was the most receptive one, she thoroughly read and studied the Book of Mormon and came to know of its truth much earlier than any of us. I took a little bit longer, I felt in my heart it was true, and it clicked in my head as the logical next step in life. A month later I joined my family in their decision to join the Church. I didn't have a perfect knowledge but I knew in my heart the Church was true. As time went by, I studied the Scriptures and the teachings of our living prophets and apostles, and waxed strong in the Spirit. I am far from perfect, but I can now say, that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God upon the earth, that the Book of Mormon contains true revelation from God to men and is Scripture, and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, and so is Thomas S. Monson, our current prophet, seer and revelator.

How I live my faith

Well, my wife and I love to be active in the Church. Currently she helps with small children at Church and I teach Sunday School, things we really enjoy. Also, every week we teach a Spanish Scripture Study Class. We enjoy visiting with other members, and working together on different projects. We thoroughly enjoy different opportunities to help one another. One of my favorite places to help out is the Bishop's storehouse, now I can't manage to make it there as often as I wish, but I still thoroughly enjoy serving there. The Bishop's storehouse is our Church's food bank kind of. Other than that I try to be a good man, not perfect just the best I can be.
