Hi I'm Jeff

I love being with family and friends, learning, technology, and sports. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an Information Technology manager for a retail company. I love spending time with my wife and family and serving in my church. I enjoy sports, studying and learning, being a grandpa, technology gadgets, music, and attempting to remain physically fit.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it is true. The religion is centered on Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, in whom I have a firm hope through His atonement and resurrection, I will one day be raised to dwell with Him. I know that God is my Eternal Father in heaven, to whom I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. I know I can approach Him in humble prayer and have received answers, direction, comfort, reminders of my eternal potential, witnesses of truth, and promptings of actions needed in my life. This religion is practical in helping me know what is true and right, progress in my nature and behaviors, know what true happiness is, and helps me to love and serve my fellow man. As I attend Church, I am constantly reminded of the love of God for His children, the eternal nature of man, the truthfulness of the scriptures, and the need for and dependence on Jesus Christ. Further, I know we are led by modern-day prophets, called of God in our day, to further teach and inspire good works, and reveal God's will.

How I live my faith

The more I learn about God and truths taught by Jesus Christ and other prophets in the scriptures the more I want to apply those truths in my life. It isn't an easy task, but it is worth it. The closer I pattern my behavior after these teachings, the happier I am. In my Church I have an opportunity to serve others and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to youth and adults. It is challenging to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a practical and appealing way and requires frequent study of the scriptures and other modern day prophets. I am blessed by the wonderful example of many men and women I serve with. Several families are assigned to me and another brother in my congregation to watch over, teach, love, and assist if needed. I enjoy this responsibility very much and it helps me be less selfish with my time. Additionally I am responsible to interview individuals as they seek to receive gospel ordinances, such as baptism, that will help them draw closer to God and come to know Him. For instance, we promise to love God and our fellow man. Living up to that promise is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. Further, I have the opportunity to interview individuals as they seek to resolve problems and overcome wrongdoing in their lives. This provides a great opportunity to love people and teach about God's love and willingness to help us overcome bad choices.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe the purpose of life is to love God by keeping his commandments and to love our fellow men. As we do this through a process of diligence and repentance we progress, line upon line, to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matt 5:48 In this way, we prove to God and ourselves that we love Him, desire to come unto Him, and grow in charity toward our fellow man. Show more Show less
