Hi I'm Bruce

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I own a professional service firm in the Washington D.C. area, serving non-profit trade and professional organizations. My work connects me to great leaders who give back to their professions or industries. I truly enjoy helping volunteers learn about good governance and leadership. When not on the job, nothing makes me happier then to be in the Rocky Mountains, skiing in the winter or biking and hiking in the summer. Especially when I can do so with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My great great grandfather and his wife converted to the LDS Church in England and emigrated to Utah with the Martin Handcart Company...an inspirational story that my family and I have honored for decades. My personal conversion took place as a young man serving a mission in Germany. I have a strong and solid belief that this is the Church of Jesus Christ and His gospel is living and real and is found in this Church today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service to others. Someone once said that it is when we forget ourselves that we will do things valued and remembered by others. My service comes through teaching and doing and in helping others improve, learn and achieve their goals.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Because the Washington, DC Temple is so prominently placed on the Capitol Beltway, I often am asked what a Temple is used for and why non members may not enter. I point out that every Temple has engraved on its face, Holiness to the Lord, The House of the Lord and in fact each temple is a holy place of worship where Mormons make sacred promises to the Lord. Our DC Temple visitors center is a wonderful place to learn more about the Church and why we build Temples. Show more Show less
