Hi I'm Kyle

I am a devoted husband and cancer survivor. I'm also a poor college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite hobby is spending time with my family. There is nothing that brings me more joy. I am going to college and studying Biomedical Engineering. I love school and I love learning, any and every opportunity I get. Basketball, Tennis, and Mountain Biking are my energy outlets and I love to be active and busy, as much as I can. Being outside in the mountains cannot be topped. Music is one of my many loves, especially the piano and marimba.

Why I am a Mormon

My family grew up in the church, and I grew up always going to church. As a youth, when I was 12 or 13, I learned and came to realize how many influences there are in the world that seek to prevent all of God's children from achieving their full potential. I was taught that reading the Book of Mormon would help me to put on the Armor of God, through Jesus Christ. As I began to read the Book of Mormon each day, and pray about it, I literally saw that promise fulfilled in my own life. The days I would read and pray, the happier I was and the easier it was to do the right thing. The days I chose to not read, the contrary happened. From that age, I began to build that habit and feel the Holy Ghost more in my life and understand the healing that comes through repentance and Jesus Christ. I chose to serve a mission for the church, which ennabled me to solidify my testimony and conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ. It helped me to build a pattern of obedience in my life that has helped me to still feel the guidance of the spirit daily, and recognize how often I need to repent and better come unto the Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live the commandments of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Smoking, drinking, swearing, immoral activities and many other things I choose to not make a part of my life. As I have done these things, my Faith in the Savior has grown and I have been able to see that through him, I can accomplish much more than I can on my own, just as he promises in the scriptures. Those tender mercies and promptings of the spirit are what help me to continue on and live my faith, no matter the whirlwinds and temptations I experience that seek to thwart my life. I also attend college level church classes, or Institute classes, each week to deepen my understanding and testimony of Jesus Christ. I also personally volunteer in one of the Neurology Department Clinics at the University I attend. The medical field is wonderful and it is such a joy to see how the miracles of modern medicine can help to improve the quality of life for many people from different walks of life.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Kyle
It is a record of scripture that testifies of Jesus Christ. It is the historical record of a family who left Jerusalem as commanded by God and were lead to the Americas. The book also contains the record of God's dealings with them as they learned the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Doctrine of Christ and how it impacted their personal lives. Those same truths that God taught them apply in our lives today. Together with the Bible, it serves as another testament of the Resurrected Jesus Christ and helps us know how to apply his Atonement, or sacrifice, in our daily lives. Show more Show less
