Hi I'm Ron

I am 63, a California citrus farmer and egg producer, a father of 7 living children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a farm owner growing oranges, grapefruit, avocados, and almonds. My wife and I have been blessed with the births of 6 sons and 3 daughters. I am definitely a family man. I love music and taught music in Idaho where I met my wife. I have played clarinet in the several groups including a group that performed on Temple Square, The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus. I also am a pilot and love to fly. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 19 years old. Read on and find out why.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I held the Bible as a sacred book. I believed in the stories of Jesus in the New Testament and knew many stories of the Old Testament. I believed that God could speak today should He wish to. At 19 I dated a young woman who was a member of the "Mormon" church. She told me of Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and invited me to a Sunday meeting in the church the next day after our first date. I was very impressed. Within a few days I had a Book of Mormon in my hand and read with hope and amazement day after day. I came to conclude that a man did not write that book; that it was either of God or the devil; and since the book was full of so much good then it had to be of God. The days of that reading were followed with continued attendance to church and ultimately baptism and the laying on of hands to receive the Holy Ghost. I am now 62 years old. I have not had one day that I haven't been so very glad to have found and had confirmed to me that God lives, Jesus Christ and His gospel is here on the earth moving forward, and there are 12 living apostles guiding the church today.

How I live my faith

Daily prayers, reading of scriptures and thinking about them to try to apply them to my life, raising children and teaching them the gospel, going to church weekly, doing my assignments from the church, and refraining from the vices of the world are some of the things I do to live my faith
