Hi I'm Mike

I grew up in Utah. I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to spend my time outdoors hiking, camping, and drawing. I also love jazz music, theater, and bowling. I am a husband, father, and a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church so I was taught the gospel at a very young age. Throughout my life I have always found the gospel to be uplifting and inspiring. It has always been the greatest source of joy in my life. It has helped me to feel peace during hard times in my life. When I was a teenager I wanted to know for myself that the gospel was true so I read The Book of Mormon and prayed about it. I didn't have a vision or see an angel but I felt the Holy Ghost whisper to me that it is true. As I studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon with the insights and revelations of modern prophets and apostles my testimony grew. I know that Jesus is the Christ. I know he is our savior. I know that he paid the price for our sins so that we can become clean again. I know that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are true. I know that God has called a prophet in these days to guide us and give us council so that we can be happy in this life and return to live with God after this life. I know that we are all children of God and that he loves us. I know that families can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I seek daily to find opportunities to serve people in my ward and my community. I am part of a group of young single adult men on campus that reaches out to people in need and does service for the members of our community. I also teach those who are not members of our faith about the gospel and strengthen members who are going through hard times.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by prophets who lived in the ancient Americas. These prophets were called upon by God to teach these people and to record their teachings. The Book of Mormon starts around 600 B.C. with the prophet Lehi who was commanded to take his family and leave Jerusalem. They were guided by the Lord to the American continent. When Lehi died his son Nephi was commanded by God to continue the record. The records were then passed down to each succeeding prophet until several hundred years later a prophet named Mormon was commanded to take the records and make an abridgement Show more Show less
