Hi I'm Chris Dexter

I grew up in Alaska, New Zealand and Arizona. I am a husband, father and an attorney. I believe in Jesus Christ and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I am married to my best friend and have four wonderful children. I have traveled the world and have lived in Arizona, Chile, California, Illinois, Alaska, New Zealand, Jerusalem and Washington DC and remain partial to being home with my family in Lindon, Utah. I enjoy hiking, swimming, travel, getting to know people from different cultures and backgrounds, learning from them and sharing my beliefs. I am a history buff and I especially enjoy learning more about the founding of the United States. I am the managing partner of Dexter & Dexter Attorneys at Law which is located in Orem, Utah where our firm focuses on helping people as they face the challenges and opportunities of life. I love the area in which our family has made our home and enjoy serving in volunteer capacities to give back. In my spare time, I love to sports (especially BYU football) and travel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and for His atoning sacrifice. I trace all of the happiness in my life to family, faith and obedience to the commandments of His Gospel. I am also grateful for the health code called the Word of Wisdom which has kept me from substances which would harm my body and spirit. The direction and counsel that I regularly receive by reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, as well as the teachings of a living prophet are great blessings in my life. I want to serve, help and bless my fellow man in ways which would be pleasing to my Savior and Heavenly Father. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Christ's teachings enable me to do these things which I find so meaningful and fulfilling.

How I live my faith

I assist the local leader of our congregations who leads a little over 3,000 members of the church. I work with the Boy Scouts of America in working with male youth. I really enjoy working with youth and their parents and volunteer leaders. I also work with community leaders to coordinate emergency preparedness, community service and service projects. I conduct weekly worthiness interviews for members in order to participate in worship in holy Temples. These are very uplifting and I enjoy feeling the spirit and the goodness faithfulness of the members of the church.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Chris Dexter
Many years ago, I had the opportunity to work in the United States Senate in Washington DC. During this time, abortion was a very controversial and heated topic. I was able to learn about and be exposed to the perspectives and beliefs of many people with divergent beliefs. While the views of others were sincere, it was always comforting to me to advocate the side interests of life and the unborn child. We all have the ability to choose with the wonderful gift of agency, but once we make choices, there are consequences. In the case of babies, what a beautiful gift from Heavenly Father to participate with Him in the creation of children. Accordingly, we ought to limit intimacy to be within the bonds of marriage. I am proud to be pro-life. Show more Show less
