Hi I'm Michael

I'm a father. I'm an IT professional and martial artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife is my best friend and my children are my joy. I grew up in Montana on a large ranch. I live with heart problems, but they don't slow me down. I work with computer systems and at home I hike, fly fish, camp, and hunt in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming. I enjoy being outdoors. Mountain ranges and rivers surround my home. I am a life long student of martial arts, and teach my family. My large extended family helps me and my wife raise our wonderful children.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. Through reading this book and attending church with my family I found Jesus Christ. When I was a missionary in Long Beach, California I learned more about faith, charity, and love. I pray daily to keep my relationship with God alive. Jesus Christ has made all the hard things in my life worth living. He fills my life with joy, and he will for you.

How I live my faith

I live the example of my parents. I have always gone to church and been a good citizen. Searching for truth is my priority. I love finding ways to help and serve my neighbor. I feel God really loves me when I go to church.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ the Messiah. They knew him personally. He prayed to God for wisdom and his specific questions were answered. God spoke to Joseph Smith who translated a record of God's word in the Americas. Joseph Smith was a prophet and was entrusted to organize the Church of Jesus Christ in our age. Although Joseph Smith lived many years ago we can read about him and believe his voice as a prophet. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

I was born with heart problems. Doctors and my mom have always encouraged me to eat well. The Mormon Church sets standards for healthy habits which including not drinking coffee, tea, or alcohol. Joseph Smith received this wisdom from God over 180 years ago. This prophet taught God's law of health is for our body and spirit. Eating right and not overdoing it has taught me that God doesn't see my weak heart as a problem. Being a martial artist teaches me the benefits of keeping mind and body healthy. Show more Show less
