Hi I'm Cory

I'm a son, a brother, a car nut, a mechanic, a cook, a gardener, I enjoy working with horses, I'm a movie buff, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love cars and working on them. I plan on a career in Auto Mechanics both with everyday cars and Diesel Trucks. I also love to cook, garden, take things apart, build things, and sit outside and watch Texas Thunderstorms. I will be going to Universal Technical Institute. I love working on and tinkering with cars. I love attending modern car shows as well as Classic and Muscle car shows in communities when I can get to one. I love going to Drag Races and just hanging out with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints not just because I was born into the Church, but because I had to find out for myself whether or not what I was brought up in and taught all my life was true. As everyone does I had my struggles. I realized later in life that, just like everyone whether born into the church or not, I had to find out whether it was true or not. I had to read and pray to know if it was true. There is no shortcut around the fact of having to pray about it. As a member I grew up always believing it, but as I grew older I started to doubt what I had always believed to be true. We all hit a point like that in our lifes and we have to sincerely want to know. I finally had to make the decision of whether or not I wanted to know. I finally decided to read and pray, as I did that I was told by the Holy Spirit that what I had grown up in was indeed true and that this Church is Christ's Church once again restored to the Earth. I can promise those of you who read this that as you read and pray and find out for yourself that if you keep your heart open you can know for yourself that this is true if you are sincerely looking for the truth and if you diligently read The Book of Mormon and pray to know of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church I have had many chances to help our fellow bretheren and sisters. My favorite way to do that is by charity work and giving blood as often as I can to help others. I love doing those things and find that it not only brings a smile to my face but also to those of whom I have helped along the way. It is a great feeling to know that even the small things that I have chosen to do have indeed helped others more than it has helped me. I can't think of any better way to get to know people but by service. In The Book of Mormon a King named King Benjamin tells his people how they can serve their God, and he says that " When ye are in the service of your fellow-beings, ye are only in the service of your God." To help Gods children is helping Him.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

We as people have struggles in our lives and wonder "Is He really there?", "Does He care about me?", "Why do bad things happen to me?", "Why do we have to go through hard things?". As we live in this world I am sure one or more of us have found ourselves asking one of these questions. One way that I know that we can increase our Faith in Jesus Christ is by trusting in Him and nourishing our souls with scripture study. We have to be willing to just go on even though we know that regardless of what we do we are going to have trials. Without experiences we cannot learn from the day to day choices that we have. The greatest thing that Jesus Christ did for us was dying for our sins, through the Atonement we have a chance to correct those things which we have done wrong and to be forgiven of the wrong choices we have made as individuals. The way that I have increased my Faith in Jesus Christ is simply by trusting in Him and knowing that he will help us along the way, and though we may stumble and fall we can pick ourselves up again and keep going. In Ether 126 in the Book Of Mormon, a Prophet named Moroni tells us "And now, I,Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things I would show unto the world that Faith is things which are hoped for and not seen wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." I testify that the words that Moroni speaks are true. I know that Christ will help us if we are willing to let him. Show more Show less
