Hi I'm Katherine.

I'm studying public health. I'm a daugher, sister, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying public health. I enjoy being in the outdoors, running, playing games, and spending time with friends and family. I love to travel, and I have been to 13 countries around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because I believe that it is the restored Church of Jesus Christ today. I know that as we live the gospel we will be prepared to return to God's presence and live with Him again after we die. I know that the church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God to restore His church. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is a guide for how we should live our lives. I know that we have a living prophet, one who speaks for God, on the earth today. President Thomas S. Monson is God's prophet and we can be confident that what he says is what God wants us to know and do.

How I live my faith

In the church we have the opportunity to serve in different positions in the local church organizations (called stakes, wards and branches). Each position is important and helps to make sure that everything and everyone is taken care of. Right now, I have the opportunity to be a leader in the organization in our ward that is specifically for the women, ages 18 and older. I also have the opportunity to teach a class about principles of the gospel each month. I am grateful for these opportunities to serve others and to continue to study and learn more about the gospel. Jesus Christ taught us that we should love one another. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you" (John 15:12). To me being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints means that each and every day I do my best to keep His commandments and serve others. The blessings that I receive as I live the gospel are greater than I can find anywhere else, because they come from God. I know this to be true.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can personally come know that Mormonism is true. As you learn about the church, take time to think about what you are learning. Then get on your knees and ask God to confirm to you that it is true. I promise that you will receive an answer when you ask sincerely and believe that God will answer you. Be quiet and patient and your prayer will be answered. Your answer will be personal for you. It may come as a feeling of peace and joy. Pay close attention to how you feel. Show more Show less
