Hi I'm Evan

I love it. I live it. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. As a member all my life I went to school in a world where it was hard to live the standards of the church all the time but the Lord helped me. I grew up with the best of friends who were and were not members of the church. I absolutely love sports and music. I wrestled along with playing football and baseball. I love anything that has to do with outdoors, especially the CA redwoods. I served a mission for the LDS church in Rapid City South Dakota. My wife and I both just graduated college studying nursing and exercise science. She and my beautiful baby boy are my pride and joy. Family is my life. Currently I am a seminary teacher for the church and spend my free time exploring Utah's mountains on my bike.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it makes me so happy. The truths I have been taught are the things that matter most to me in my life. Where else can you find that husband, wife, daughter and son can live together as a family eternally with God? Or that a Prophet that talks with God is on the earth to lead us today? I love it because as I live the gospel it makes me happier each day as I draw closer to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith first by making the choice that I will do whatever God asks of me. That makes everything so much easier because you know it's his will and not yours that is always being done. This is what brings joy. I serve as a youth leader in my current ward and due to my occupation as well I get to see first hand how the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives for the better during the critical teenage years. I live my faith by studying the Bible and Book of Mormon for a little bit everyday because they bring the comfort of the Holy Ghost into my life. My ultimate example is the Savior Jesus Christ and I try my best to live a life of pure love just like him. When I mess up I trust that God sees me for who I really am...that he looks upon my heart and knows what I really desire...and that gives me the strength to keep living my faith.
