Hi I'm Odessa

I am stay at home mom who does not always find time and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I like to think I can do anything I want. If I wanted to sky dive, then I would get an instructor and jump away. Or if I wanted to learn to carve stone, I would become educated on what stone is best and what tools are good for carving stone. But I know I am a woman who thinks too much and hesitates and also ponders my boundaries. I enjoy new experiences like wake boarding and jumping off of very tall diving boards. I like to meet new people and I love trying ethnic foods. I have about 2 years of college under my belt in Merchandising and Consumer Studies but my husband is working on getting a physical therapy degree so I'll finish my schooling another day. I am number 7 of 8 children. One cool thing about my family is that with the first initial of our first names from oldest to youngest we spell the word OCCASION. I think that might help define my parents, brother, and sisters. There are 7 girls and one boy and we like to have fun. Among these things about me I know that without Jesus Christ as my Savior, Redeemer and God that this would all be meaningless. He has made all of my happiness and strengthened me when I worry. Jesus Christ is my and my husband's greatest support.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Crist of Latter day Saints first and for most because I know it is true. I was born and raised in the church and have always had an assurance that what was being taught was good and that I was pleasing my Father in Heaven by fallowing the teachings in this church. I have visited other churches and none have given me the feeling of peace and joy that I feel belonging to this church. The Book of Mormon teaches of Christ and his way for every individual. If there was only one thing that I could give to my children it would be the blessings that come from being a faithful member in the Lord's church. I love my Savoir very much and I have gained a testimoney of him through the scriptures. I am so thankful to Him and His matchless love for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the Saviors teachings. I'm not perfect but I try. I find that fallowing the prophets counsel to read the scriptures and pray daily help me tremendously. In church, I currently lead the music but I have worked in the nursery and with 3-5 year olds(and even after that I do want children).

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

The mormon church began with a boy and a desire to know Gods will. The boy was Joseph Smith Jr. and he prayed to know what church he should join. He was answered that none of the churches were complete and that he shouldn't join one. Joseph Smith was later given the revelation to restore God's church. Show more Show less
