Hi I'm Chaz

I love sports. I love music. I love the Pacific Northwest and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the Seattle area my whole life and it's been great. I grew up camping and hiking and definitely love being outdoors. Being an athlete, I always look for chances to play sports, mostly basketball. However, attending college and working does limit the fun stuff now. I really like cars and driving and plan to pursue a career working with cars. Lastly, music is a must, it helps keep me going.

Why I am a Mormon

A common remark is, "Because you were born into it." Well that is true, and I'm glad I was. I know that my beliefs and values have kept me out of a lot of trouble. Growing in the teachings of Jesus Christ has made a clearly visible difference in my life. Often I wonder what direction my life would take had I not been born into it, and if I would have still chosen to live the Gospel upon finding it. Knowing what life is really about is important. With so much opinion on the purpose of life, I've had a desire to know if there will really be consequences for my actions in this life, and if so, what they will be. I've thought a lot about what I and others believe, and I know that all truth comes from God. I (as well as any honest seeker of truth can) have had plenty of witness, including direct answers to prayers, that the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found in this church.

How I live my faith

I attend a young single adult branch. I know excitement is something young people look for and church services usually don't come to mind. However, being able to socialize, learn the gospel and its applications to life, and spiritually recharge is what makes church enjoyable. Part of my assignment as a member is to help organize monthly activities. Apart from Sunday service I attend a scripture study class once a week and a 'family night' for us singles. Outside of church related activities I am happy to tell people I'm a mormon and share my beliefs and how I live them. I love answering questions. I know that being spiritually happy has a huge positive impact on my life. Living the Gospel will bring that happiness to anyone and everyone.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is most importantly another witness of Jesus Christ and His reality as the Savior of the world. It supports the Bible in declaring that His Gospel is the only way to true happiness here and in the next life. It teaches much about that 'next life' we wonder about. Read the Book of Mormon and a lot of that wonder will become understanding. Understanding more of God's plan for us will bring peace, because God does have a perfect plan for us. I know the Book of Momon is true. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Of course. I know God cares for us much as any of his children in the past, so He sends prophets to guide us in this world of uncertainty. God reveals to the prohpet the things we need to know right now, in our time. There are similarities between these days and Bible days, but also much difference, hence we still need prophets. Having a prophet keeps the Church in order, as he is the only one that receives revelation for the world as a whole. Show more Show less
