Hi I'm Erin

I'm a graphic designer, sister, daughter, singer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I'm a college graduate (with a degree in Sociology), editor, self taught graphic designer, and singer with a wide range of passions and pursuits, sometimes too many to handle! I love learning and keeping up with current events, but I also love singing my heart out and being creative. I'm the oldest of six kids, and I love being with my family more than anything else. I've been singing since before I could talk, and I currently sing with a choir called the Sterling Singers (no it's not just for senior citizens! :) ) Aside from my job as a graphic designer for a construction company, I love to design custom wedding invitations, and I'm just beginning to dabble in photography as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Although my parents raised me in the LDS church, I have developed my own testimony of this gospel and the Savior in the last few years. I've always had a hard time making major decisions, causing much worry and unrest in my life. It was not until I learned to lean on the Lord, and rely on him to guide my life, that I discovered what true happiness is. He knows each of us, loves each of us individually, and cares about what happens to us. By living the principles taught by the LDS church, I've been able to feel more connected to God than by any other means.

How I live my faith

I attend church meetings with other single members of the church like me every week. I relish in studying the gospel with people with whom I have a lot in common including a testimony of Jesus Christ as our Savior, brother, and friend. I also live my faith by expressing my testimony through music. My testimony lies on a foundation of music and its power to communicate with the hearts of those who hear it. For me, music overcomes any doubts I have, and when I'm singing a song that testifies of Jesus Christ, I feel that what I sing is true on a level beyond any conscious decision. One of my favorite songs like this is "This is the Christ," which is a perfect testimony of Christ, all that he has done for us, and the love he has for every one of us.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe that the Holy Ghost is a separate entity from God, and is God's messenger to his children here on earth. You will often hear members of our church talking about receiving a testament from the Holy Ghost, or acting upon promptings from the Holy Ghost. These interactions with the Lord's messenger can manifest themselves in many different ways, and are different for every person. For me, I often equate a prompting from the Holy Ghost with a "gut reaction." It is just a sudden realization that what I'm doing is either good, or needs to change. These promptings often catch me off guard, but when I follow them, they always lead me to other opportunities or fulfilling experiences. Show more Show less
