Hi I'm Thomas

I am self-employed. I was a missionary in Cali, Colombia. I am married and have 4 beautiful girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work out of my house, and I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and daughters. I also love playing sports and excersing regularly.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 9 years old I took the opportunity to find out if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) was true. My dad was baptized as a teenager, and my mom was born into The Mormon Church, but I needed to know for myself. I was advised not to take anyone's word for it except God's. One night at the age of 9 I prayed and asked. I received a Heavenly answer from the Holy Ghost (third member of the Godhead) through peace and warmth in my heart and mind. That was over 20 years ago, and I have had many spiritual confirmations since then. I am a Mormon because the only person who cannot lie told me and continues to tell me it is true. That person is my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church every Sunday at our local chapel. Also once a month we travel a few hours to one of our Temples in Washinghton, DC. I serve the members in our Spanish Branch as one of my assignments. Every month I travel to one of the other 10 congregations (Wards and Branches) in our area, and give a talk on a gospel topic. Also, every month a 15 year old boy called a Teacher and I visit 4 families we are assigned to. We make sure they are doing well and keeping the commandments. While we are there we give them a short spiritual message. Every morning we kneel and have a family prayer with my wife and daughters. We also read from the Book of Mormon and Bible regularly in the morning. At night after family prayer, my wife and I read the Book of Mormon together and say a prayer together and individually. We do our best with cutting the world out and letting the Savior Jesus Christ in.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I truly believe we have a living prophet today named Thomas S. Monson. Since the time of Joseph Smith in 1820 there has always been a living prophet on the earth. In order to have the Lord's Church on the earth He must have a living prophet to reveal His will. See Amos 3:7 in the Old Testament. What a comforting joy to know there is a living prophet today!
