Hi I'm Julie

I grew up all over the United States, I've held a lot of different kinds of jobs, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a history buff and a Constitutionalist, and have loved reading what the Prophet Joseph and other prophets have said and written about our country and our Constitution. I'm an avid reader, love to crochet, but piano is my passion. I love animals - I could easily own a dozen each dogs & cats! I love to laugh and always try to find the bright side, even when things are tough.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church 14 years ago, having been raised Methodist & Lutheran. I also explored other denominations, including the non-denominational Unity Church. After moving to Idaho my then-husband joined The Church immediately, but I wasn't about to let ANYone tell me where & when to worship (being 'assigned' to a ward, for example), quit smoking or quit drinking coffee! However, the Holy Spirit knew otherwise, and one day I found myself telling my daughter, 'Come watch me smoke my last cigarette.' Three weeks later I was baptized and confirmed. I've never regretted that decision, even after my divorce. I KNOW the Book of Mormon is true, I KNOW The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the earth, the full Gospel has been restored along with the doctrines Jesus taught, and that President Monson is the true living prophet.

How I live my faith

I am luckier and more blessed than most, I think, because I have the privilege of working for The Church in Facilities Management. My title is Office Assistant. As a result I come in contact with ecclesiastic leaders such as Bishops and Stake Presidents, but also with delivery people, the mailman, and contractors and vendors who may or may not be members of the Church. So I have a daily opportunity to be a witness of Christ. Additionally I serve both Ward and Stake callings as Librarian, Web site administrator, and I maintain the Stake calendar. My companion and I visit three wonderful sisters each month when we visit teach.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Mormon Church does not endorse political parties. Members of our Church are members of diverse political parties. Show more Show less

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Welfare services by the Mormon Church have the primary purpose of helping members 'over the hump' so to speak. I personally have benefitted from receiving food boxes that I went and got myself; but then it was my privilege to help out at the Bishop's Storehouse (where I got my food) in return by volunteering there whenever I could.
