Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in the Washington D.C. Area. I'm a musician and believe in "Happily Ever Afters." I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college graduate, wife, and stay-at-home mom. I studied Humanities and Music while in college, and love to read, play piano and sing. I have a sweet, two-year-old boy who is the joy of my life. In recent news, my husband and I are thrilled to be expecting Baby #2 at the end of July. Currently we're living in Kentucky where my husband works for the Boy Scouts of America, and I teach piano and voice from home. We are so happy, and are living proof that dreams really do come true!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found in my life that the only way to truly be happy is through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Lord's way is always better than mine. I came to realize this when I was trying to make an extremely difficult decision. I had been very badly hurt, and was too afraid to change my life. I remember thinking that as scared as I was of change, it had to be better than the pain I was currently going through. I fell to my knees and told the Lord I would do whatever He asked of me, even if it was hard. While the physical changes I had to make in my life took time, the spiritual change was immediate. I felt surrounded by Christ's love and was filled with the courage I needed to move on from the hurt. Since that day I have never doubted the Savior's love for me, and the ability that He has to erase the pain from our lives through His infinite atonement.

How I live my faith

I find great joy in serving around the community. The people here in Kentucky have a deep love for their Heavenly Father, and His son, Jesus Christ. I enjoy associating with them and sharing my beliefs with those around me. There is so much good that can be accomplished if we work together. I believe the first step to this progress begins in the home and family.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I know that we have a living prophet on the earth today. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so naturally He blesses His children with living prophets to guide us on the present concerns of the day. It gives me great comfort knowing that I don't have to be afraid of the problems in the world, because I can follow the prophet's guidance to know what to do. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet on the earth today because I have followed his teachings and been blessed with great happiness. Show more Show less
