Hi I'm Aquiles

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an Insurance Agent in Jacksonville Florida. I'm a widower and Grandpa of 7. Love my children and their children, I thank our Holy Father for them, and for having me around to enjoy them and to be able to teach them the Plan of Salvation that has been revealed to us the Mormon Family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in the world, I often thought about Jesus Christ, but I did not know who to follow, or who my brothers were that shared the same ideas about Jesus. So I strayed away from His teachings; I was living in a world of confusions. Every time I went to a church they said something different. But one day the missionaries of the church came to talk to me, and of course like many of you do I told them I was too busy and that I couldn't talk to them. They left me some literature asking me to read it, and to get down on my knees and pray and ask the Holy Spirit if what I was reading was true. After praying and reading the Holy Spirit revealed to me that I was reading the Word of God (The Book of Mormon). I am happy that they came along and filled the void of my empty life, they showed me the discipline of following Jesus. They brought peace and understanding and a new future for me and my family.

How I live my faith

I keep God in my mind, I have Jesus in my Heart, and I listen to the council of the Holy Spirit. Reading the Book of Mormon and listening to the teachings of our Prophet and the Disciples of the Church. All my actions changed and I started following Christ the way He wanted me to do so. My immorality has vanished, I have overcome my vises, and I look at my fellow men in a different perspective. I love them as Jesus has taught me to do, and hope that they receive a similar revelation. All this has made me realize that I want to live to teach my children and my fellow men about Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

God has always talked to us through prophets and the Holy Spirit. Prophets are not well received by their peers, but because they are used to communicate the word of God and when you ask the council of the Holy Spirit you realize who is talking to you. The revelation of these Prophets is extremely important, you have to pay attention and resort to the council of the Holy Spirit; it is in this way that you will hear what God has to say to you. Prophets wrote the Bible, and Latter-Day Prophets receive revelation that they put into writing. The Book of Mormon was also written through revelation to the Prophets who lived in Ancient America, and was translated by Joseph Smith by the power of God. Show more Show less
