Hi I'm Kiersten

I love the outdoors. I love to mountain bike, run and water ski. I'm in my first year of PA school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kiersten. I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT and I am currently going to Physician Assistant school in California. I am married to my best friend and we love to go on any adventure! For the past couple of months my life has been focused around studying and more studying, and even when I'm not studying I think about how I should be studying! Even though it is hard work I am loving it and I can't wait to become a PA! Being in California I miss the mountains, the trails, the trees, and the weather. I love to be outside doing everything and anything. I love to mountain bike, hike, water ski, run, fish, snow ski, and climb. I ran my first marathon last spring and qualified for the Boston Marathon and I am hoping to run it this spring, but it all depends on school. I also am wanting to explore as much of California as I can while me and my husband are here, including climbing half dome, finding fun beaches, surfing more, and getting to Joshua Tree more often. To sum it all up I am living the life and living the dream!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because from years of praying and pondering I know deep down that this is the true church on the earth today. I grew up in an LDS family so I never knew any other way, however after moving away for college and living outside of my comfortable social scene I was on my own....or at least I thought I was. It was hard being away from the same home ward, being away from family, and having to make new friends. I didn't have much to rely on except myself and my beliefs. My first year of college I came to realize that no matter how hard it was or how lonely I became the Lord was always there for me. Prayer's were always answered and there was always a friend to help me along the way. I played soccer in college and I was taking a heavy course load and there were many times where I was beaten down, but every time I hit that low point the gospel was there to pull me back up, whether that be through prayer, scripture study, church attendance, ward activity attendance, or a fellow member/friend reaching out. The Lord is ALWAYS there and will ALWAYS be there. Yes, there are times when He is going to let you struggle, but it is not because He doesn't love you, He wants you to learn and to grow. Throughout my life thus far I have felt as if I have seen a lot of hard times, but instead of giving up I faced the challenge and have become a stronger person. I am amazed everyday at how much the Lord is there helping me get from one day to the next. I'm a Mormon because it is part of who I am and I can't be in this life alone, I need my Savior and my Heavenly Father holding my hand.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of Christ. He has been our perfect example of love, faith, determination, trust, compassion, understanding, and respect. I pattern my life through Him so I can help those around me and reach to those who need help. I carry His spirit with me so I can share His love with others and so I can get from day to day. I live my faith through faithful service in my callings in my church. I am currently serving in my ward's primary. I am responsible for 14 kids around the age of 2. I love this calling because I get to see God's love through the eyes of a child. These kids will love me no matter what, and through that they have taught me to love others in that same way. I have served as a ward missionary, a family home evening leader, and as a visiting teacher. Visiting teaching has been a blessing in my life. I am able to meet sisters in my ward and get to know them on a personal level. It keeps me prepared and ready to share a message of our faith. I have made numerous life long friends through visiting teaching.
