Hi I'm Rick

I grew up in Syracuse Utah, I'm a Husband and a Father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 29 years old. I am married to my best friend. I am the father to two beautiful boys ages 4 and 2. I went on a mission to Lima, Peru and try to keep up on my spanish. I am currently a printing consultant for large companies and government entities. I was adopted by the best parents in the world when I was only 6 months old. I love Jesus Christ and his Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

Being raised in the church I attended Sunday meetings with my parents for as long as I can remember. I watched one of my brothers and one of my sisters go on missions. I had a desire to do the same. When the time came for me to make the decision whether or not I was going to give two years of my life and go somewhere in the world to teach others about the Mormon Church, I was a little torn. I had the desire, but wanted to know for myself if what this church taught was indeed true. So I prayed to God and asked him if it was. I didn't get an answer until I was already in the Missionary Training Center in Lima, Peru. When the answer came, I felt a peace, warmth and a surety that it was indeed ALL true. Almost like when you know you've solved a complex math problem and there are no doubts that you've done it correctly. Throughout the mission, I had daily experiences that only confirmed the truthfulness of this church. I love this church. It brings such a clarity to my life. How I should live each day. How I can be a better Father and Husband. How I can be a better and more kind to others. I am a Mormon because I know that if I abide by the teachings of this Christ's church, I can return to live with Him again with my family for all eternity.

How I live my faith

My wife and I are the Bear Cub Scout leaders in our congregation. Each week we plan scout activities and service projects to help our community. We love this opportunity to serve the Scouts. We learn a lot about ourselves while helping in this church calling.

What is the Book of Mormon?

It is another Testament of Jesus Christ. That he lived, paid the debt of not only sin for all mankind, but for every emotional pain and anguish that we experience. He was then crucified and was resurrected. The Book of Mormon is the account of the ancestors of the American Indians. Prophets that lived in the American continents. Their experiences, teachings, and prophecy's of the coming of the Savior of the world. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. A simple fact is that if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith was a true prophet. He is the one who translated the writings found on gold plates to what we know as the Book of Mormon. And if Joseph Smith was indeed a true prophet, the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true and living church on the face of the earth. I encourage all who do not know for themselves if this book is true, to read it, ponder it's teachings, and ask God in the name of Jesus Christ if the book is true. I have done so, and know it to be.
