Hi I'm Glee

I live in Missouri. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. I love to read, do cross stitch, garden, take walks and stay healthy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I love knowing where I came from, why I am here on earth and where I am going after this life. I am a daughter of God and I lived with him before I came here. I am not descended from an ape. I am here on earth to progress to be like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have a purpose. And after this life I can live with my family and my Father in Heaven again. Death is not the end.

How I live my faith

I am active as a mormon by playing the piano for meetings. I work with the women of our church to make sure that they and their families needs are being met, it's called Visiting Teaching. I also work to help people get prepared in case of emergencies. I attend church regularly and attend the temple whenever I can.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We are taught in the Bible that baptism is the way to enter the Kingdom of God. But what about all of the people in the world that have never heard of Jesus Christ or been taught his gospel? Would God be fair if he did not allow them the same opportunity as someone who had heard the gospel? God is our Heavenly Father and He loves us. He wants us all to come back and live with Him. So He gave us the opportunity to perform baptisms for the dead. That way if those who have died without the gospel choose to follow him, they can accept the baptism performed on their behalf and return to live with Him. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

The answer is no. The church tries to perform service where ever there is a need. In my own ward we have filled sandbags to stop flooding in the St. Louis flood of 1993. We filled sandbags again when the Missouri flooded in Winfield. Each year we take part in a community service project, it can be working with others in our community cleaning parks or stream beds, cleaning the yard or painting rooms for a womens shelter. We also make quilts for shelters or have food drives or help in collecting school supplies, to name a few. Jesus Christ spent his life in the service of others, and as his followers we are taught to do the same. Show more Show less
