Hi I'm Scott Stonehocker

I'm a Canadian converted to California weather. I started a charity helping kids in Cambodia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I taught high school students for 5 years, started a charity helping kids in Cambodia, just finished my MBA and am a marketer in Silicon Valley.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Christ and in God the Father. I believe that God hears my prayers and that He still speaks to men and women on earth through the Holy Spirit. I feel that they care deeply for me, my success, and my well-being as I struggle through life. I remember one of the first times that I felt that God was real and that Christ really could forgive me of my sins and wash me clean. I was a young teenager and had done something I shouldn't. I tried really hard to repent of my sins and I asked God for forgiveness. I remember how good I felt when I received forgiveness and how peace returned to my life--I felt happy and confident again. For all the hiding and forgetting I tried to do to get that guilty feeling to go away, nothing restored my peace and happiness like Christ. That's when I knew that it was real. As I've studied the scriptures and prayed to understand them and know that they are true, I've felt a clear, calm assurance that they are from God. I've followed the same pattern to understand whether prophets, temples, and other aspects of the Church's doctrine are really from God.

How I live my faith

I am generally a pretty happy person. My faith helps me put God first in this busy life, give service freely to other people, and count my blessings. My faith also helps me find peace, hope and strength in the rough times. I'm much happier because of my faith in Christ.
