Hi I'm Nate

I'm a Mormon. I'm a Basketball player. I'm In Kentucky.

About Me

I'm 20 years old, I was baptized when i was 8 years old i can still remember when i was baptized i think i was more excited for the gifts from my family then actually being baptized. I grew up in West Valley City, Utah. The Majority of the people i know are members of the church growing up in utah its hard to find non members! I used to Skateboard a lot when i was in middle school, That was one of my favorite things to do. Typically i would go out nearly all day with a group of my friends and skate around town. Thats where most of my extra time went! Another one of my favorite things to do was to play baseball of course the classic community league experience... I'm the oldest of 2 kids, I have a younger brother who is now just recently a Marine and a younger sister whose 11. My parents are divorced and they are my hero's, I love them both! My mom is a therapist and my dad is a teacher at a job corp. training school in utah. I love the snow and basketball. I'm also a die hard Utes,49ers,Jazz fan. I could watch espn all day long!

Why I am a Mormon

WHile ive been a member my whole life i am happier when i'm obedient to the gospel and it makes me feel happy even when things that are around me are hectic i can always find peace and solace in the gospel! As i've taught others the gospel i know its the fullness of the gospel and i can find answers to my questions that i have about current life situations. I have needed help changing and i have received answers to my prayers and it has helped me and saved me from unhappiness.

How I live my faith

I'm serving as a missionary in The Great Kentucky Louisville mission! I'm trying my best to teach the gospel to others, A huge influence in my actions is of course my future family i want to be able to serve them and provide for them all that i can. I'm thankful for the modern day revelation for the direction and guidance that comes from having a prophet on the earth. One thing that i have learned while i've been out on my mission is that the warnings and promptings of the spirit can be so vital in being happy that we need to strive to constantly have its companionship and after we are baptized we are able to receive the gift of the holy ghost to constantly stay in tune with the spirit and experience true joy peace happiness gentleness meekness love and the fruits of the spirit. The Book of Mormon is key in this as well as more revealed scripture i know that it can improve anyones life who reads it and is seeking to be happy. I'm trying my best to read it everyday!

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Examples of people that are striving to live the gospel and church standards. Charity from others is a big role i think too! Show more Show less

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Its Very Simple. The reason is because of Jesus Christ to follow him and do as he did, The purpose of his earthly mission was to teach us the way and to sacrifice himself for us. He wants to bless us and after baptism is confirmation receiving the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost that helps us make important changes and gives us direction in life, He blesses us through baptism and forgives our sins, we are washed completely clean. My Baptism was incredible i was 8 years old and i remember being nervous, excited to get in the water but after i felt the spirit very strongly, I know i was baptized by gods authority and i know that god knows it as well because of that. What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is the power of god that god gives to man, In biblical history Christ gave the Priesthood to the twelve disciples and through out time the apostles went forth and established the church because they had the authority too this pattern is clear throughout the new testament but false doctrines prevailed and they were not able to confer the priesthood through the laying on of hands, God Restored the priesthood to the prophet Joseph Smith from the original holders who are John the Baptist and Peter, James and John. Christs original apostles. Holding this authority that i can trace back all the way to God is a blessing for me being able to bless the sick and afflicted and to help others receive the sacred ordinances of the gospel.
